Dabovitsa is situated in South-East Bulgaria and comprises a part of Sungurlare Municipality – Bourgas District. The area size of the village is 25sq.km. The altitude varies between 300 and 500m above the sea level. There are 94 inhabitants, according to latest estimates. Sungurlare is a town and a municipality which includes 30 settlements with 14890 residents. It is part of Bourgas Province. The distance from the village to the city of Sliven is 28km, 78km to the seaside town of Bourgas, 51km to the town of Aytos, and approximately 270km to the capital of Sofia.The Sungurlare region is well-known in Bulgaria and abroad for its marvelous wines. The most famous brand called Sungurlarski misket is made from the grapes grown in the adjacent wine-growing villages and towns. The municipality is the home of some very interesting natural beauty sites and protected areas: the rock formations in the Nemoydere locality; The pierced rock near the village of Beronovo; Koriyata (The Coppice) near the village of Vezenkovo; the waterfalls - Kara Sou, Siniat Vir, Stramnitsa and Kroumov Waterfall; the tourist site "Elevation 1008 m."; Kaleto, a locality where Khan Krum held an important battle with Byzantine troops. There are also a number of archaeological and historical sites from Thracian and Byzantine times, the Middle Ages and the more recent national history. Thracian mounds, ancient Greek poleis, remains of ancient and medieval fortresses have been found here. One can immerse in the unique atmosphere created by the seaside houses from the National Revival period in Nesebar and Sozopol and the preserved samples of the Strandzha house in the villages of Fakia, Brashlyan, Bulgari, Kosti, Brodilovo, etc.
