The hamlet of Bikovo is located in Nova Zagora Municipality, in Sliven region. The village is situated within a short driving distance from the popular town of Sliven – 30 km and 17 km away from the regional town – Nova Zagora. Sliven region is situated in the south-eastern part of Bulgaria and covers 1367 sq.km. It borders on Yambol municipality to the south, Bourgas district to the east, Kotel municipality to the north, Tvarditsa municipality to the west and on Nova Zagora municipality to the southwest. This interesting location has been estimated as favourable for the economy development of the municipality. It depends on the integration of Sliven municipality with the neighbouring districts and municipalities for sharing resources and potentialities for development. The agriculture lands predominate in the municipal land structure (52.0% of the whole territory) The forests and woodland cover 40.0% of the municipality and the inhabited area is 40.0% of the total municipal land. The vegetative and animal world in the municipal area is rich and varied. There can be seen over 20 deciduous trees. The white fir, black fir and spruce predominate of the coniferous trees. Over 30 rare vegetative species which are listed in the Bulgarian Red Book of endangered species grow in the territory of State Forestry - Sliven . A large part of them are used as medicinal plants. The animal world of the area is very interesting.
